Dear Colleague,

Bangladesh Urban Forum-BUF is now a reality through formal inaugural by the Hon’ble President of Bangladesh in its first session held from 5-7 December 2011, with active participation of all urban stakeholders from all over the country. As evident the session included with an exhibition, 22 program sessions has successfully ended with formal declaration identifying the actions to be taken at both Government and Non-Government ends for institutionalization and effectiveness of the BUF as platform for all the actors on the urban issues.

Besides the noted process, BUFin line with its objectives has planned for some activities including a publication of a News Letter for the current year and beyond. The News Letter with contributions and collaboration from the BUF associates would be published on quarterly basis highlighting on the urban issues of our all concern.

You are therefore, earnestly requested to send your contribution in the suitable form of write up, images etc to help the BUF Secretariat accomplish the plan for the publication satisfactorily. Please find below the important dates for sending your contributions.

Format of Write Up: Composed in MS Word Document using SutonnyMJ Font (14).

Please send JPG files for any images used in the Word File.

Language: Preferably Bangla.

In 2012 Bangladesh will celebrate, discuss, plan and rethink its thriving cities. In December 2011 the Government of Bangladesh will launch the Bangladesh Urban Forum in the Bangabandhu International Convention Center. In 2012, a large number of actors of urban sector, such as municipal governments, civil society, NGOs, the private sector and development partners will attend a series of political, cultural and social events throughout Bangladesh. You will create a logo that gives those events a quality seal and a beautiful and distinctive face to the Bangladesh Urban Forum.

The Logo for the Bangladesh Urban Forum should:

  • Characterize Bangladesh, Bangladesh's cities and its people
  • Have a cheerful, yet reputable character
  • Be eye-catching and beautiful to guarantee broad public recognition

Please submit:

  • Your logo proposal in both color and black and white in digital format (pdf, jpg, tif and EPS) in high resolution (min. 300 dpi)
  • A short explanation of the logo on a separate sheet
  • Your full name, postal address and email address

The winner will be will be contacted one week prior to the logo launch at the Bangladesh Urban Forum on December 5-7, 2011. All contributors guarantee that they will not use their submissions for other means and that the logo has not been used for any other purpose before.
