Greetings from WaterAid Bangladesh!
Bangladesh has been invited to nominate candidates to the Sida financed Advanced International Training Programme on Sustainable Urban Water and Sanitation – Integrated Processes, 2016 arranged by NIRAS in collaboration with WaterAid Sweden. The programme will begin in August 2016 and last for 15 months. It includes, among other activities, three weeks scheduled in Sweden and two weeks scheduled in Uganda. The deadline for applications is 10 June 2016.
To promote a fruitful networking among participants and to support actual impact on the implementing level, this programme aims to gather organizations operating in one specific area in the country. In Bangladesh, the selected area is Dhaka City North and any organization working with water and sanitation in Dhaka City North is encouraged to nominate candidates to the programme. Organizations working in other areas than Dhaka City North, are also welcome to nominate candidates, but should be aware of the priority given to the selected area. Candidates may be nominated by authorities, institutions, universities, NGOs, water utilities or other private companies active in the water and sanitation sector. The programme is primarily targeting organizations, not individuals, and efforts will be made to establish long-term relationships with key organizations. Such collaborative organizations should be willing to commit themselves to participation over several years and to cooperate with other organizations in the programme. Capacity and interest to drive change processes to achieve their long-term goals, and a certain level of influence on the water and sanitation sector, is a prerequisite to become a collaborative organization.
WaterAid Bangladesh will work through national facilitators to identify and support relevant organizations locally. Attached please find the relevant documents for your kind understanding and support for nomination and application.
